I’m not a mechanic by any means, but I had this fitted to my Trakker in about 45 minutes. The kit comes with everything you need, and the instructions are easy to follow. The wiring is tidy and the thumb throttle fits perfectly on the handle. If you can handle a basic socket set, you can install this yourself. Very impressed with how simple the process was.
I’ve used this kit through a very wet and windy autumn. The battery housing and the thumb throttle are well-sealed against the rain. Even through deep puddles and thick mud, the motor keeps turning smoothly. The cables are high-quality and the connectors are waterproof. It’s clearly been designed by people who actually go fishing in rough conditions.
In the past, I’d stay put in a dead swim just because I hated the thought of pushing my gear to the other side of the lake.
